Penelope Cruz (s.Ustinov) wins 1.50m WEF

Brian Cournane and his Irish bred, 11yo Penelope Cruz (s.Ustinov) have won the CaptiveOne 1.50m Classic at CSI3* Wellington. They were one of seven entries to advance to the jump-off and claimed the best result. “Penelope Cruz is a wonderful, generous mare. She is quite small, but when you get up and start jumper her she’s a great horse. She feels a lot bigger. She is confident on gras, indoors and outdoors. She’s great because she can win a class like this, but she can also jump the Grand Prix. And I like to think there’s a Grand Prix win in her. I would love to do that just for the mare because she’s so good!”, said the rider.
